Stunned to hear of Chris Conway passing.....

when i arrived in Dubai in 92, he was one of the first people i met in the Lodge...we all remember that

place dont we?.He went out of his way to to take me to the club and introduced me to a few people.

At the time i was on my own and greatly appreciated the friendship.

that he showed me...a true gent indeed!

Chris Conway

I am very sad to hear that Chris has passed away. I have many fond memories of his friendship, camaraderie and humour. Chris played his rugby with passion, commitment and at time great flair. Full back, winger or his preferred position wing forward Chris was the outstanding utility player who loved his rugby, was selfless and gave his all on and off the pitch with his team mates and always supported his club.

I am particularly proud to have played in the same 7’s team that won the Dubai Sevens Gulf Tournament and represented the Arabian Gulf at the Hong Kong Sevens. He was always engaging and a pleasure to meet and as Brian stated no matter how long it had last been it seemed just like yesterday.

I offer my condolences to his family.

CHRIS CONWAY

Chris was one of those rare people who you could meet after 6 months or a couple

of years and you immediately starting chatting with him as if it was only yesterday.

He enjoyed his rugby whether it was at full back, flanker or winger.  At times he nearly,

and I stress nearly, managed to keep Chris King  from his wilder side.

Always one of these people who you enjoyed having around.

My condolences to his family.
