We are a sports club dedicated to playing, enjoying and promoting the game of Rugby Union in Dubai in order to help develop the game throughout the Gulf region and across the Middle East and Asia. We currently have over 720 members at our Club, and we offer rugby from age 4 all the way through, in some cases, to over 60 years of age! We also have an established Netball section for our younger female members, Cricket section and Adult Touch Rugby section that have all proven to be a huge success.

Our pedigree and brand is known worldwide; teams both amateur and professional from all over the world visit us regularly to enjoy the traditional hospitality a good rugby club offers both on and off the field. These teams can range from fully professional teams traveling for warm weather training camps, through to social tours from various teams or even visiting navy ships looking to stretch their land legs with a game of rugby against the region’s oldest and most prestigious rugby club.

In recent years and with the increasing success and popularity of the Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament (which we established in 1969), we are proud to be involved in the promotion of sevens rugby at the highest international level as well as at various amateur levels. In 1999, along with our gracious patron HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE), sponsor Emirates Airlines and the Arabian Gulf RFU, we were honoured to host the first ever games to be played in the IRB World Rugby Sevens Series.

Success has brought other rewards and although we still proudly retain our historical title of Dubai Exiles RFC, there is very little left apart from photographs and memories for one to imagine our humble beginnings. In March 2007 we vacated our ancestral home in Al Awir which had once been a lone sand pitch and was subsequently developed over time to house four grass pitches,  two clubhouses, a bar and netball courts. It was here that many residents and visitors enjoyed playing rugby, soccer, netball, Gaelic football and hurling as well as attending all manner of world class concerts and other crowd pulling events.

A new chapter was written in 2008 with our relocation to our present headquarters which is at the magnificent new “7he Sevens” Rugby Stadium on the outskirts of Dubai where we have access to first class facilities including floodlit pitches and netball courts.
