Abu Dhabi Harlequins centre Gary Andrews has completed his move from the capital club to Dubai Exiles RFC.
Gary, a PE Teacher at The British International School Abu Dhabi, will be another Nord Anglia educator who’ll be playing his rugby in the black shirt of the Dubai Exiles this 2024-25 season.
Before moving to the UAE in 2021, Gary played as a centre and wing for Malone RFC in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Malone is the club where Dubai Exiles‘ Head Coach, Jacques Benade, took on his first Head Coach role after a distinguished playing career with the Sharks and Bennetton Treviso. Jacques spent five seasons with Malone before moving on to ‘All Ireland Division 1‘ club Ballymena.
Anybody who is familiar with UAE Premiership rugby will know that Zayed Sports City is a difficult place to go and get a win.
Gary has proven to be a thorn in the side of the Exiles on more than one occasion, including the UAE Premiership final at The Sevens Stadium in March 2022, we won’t mention that will we Gary!
Welcome to the Dubai Exiles – we’re very happy to have you standing on our side of the pitch this year!
