We are delighted to congratulate Sophie Shams on pulling on an England shirt for the first and certainly not the last time.
Sophie started her rugby with the Mini & youth section in the Dubai Exiles U7s and was one of the stars of the young team for 6 years. She then moved to the U19 girls and played a central role in developing the team that eventually won the Dubai 7s event 4 years out of 5.
In Sophie’s first season in the UK she played at Twickenham in a BUCS final and now for the England ladies 7s team – scoring tries on both occasions. We know its not the end of the journey and we are delighted that we have played a small role in the journey to date.
