Dubai Exiles RFC‘s long standing Youth Development Partners, HSBC, have revamped the World Rugby Sevens Series which kicks off in Dubai this December (December 2nd to 3rd 2023).
Stephen Moss, Regional Chief Executive Officer – HSBC Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye commented:
“HSBC is excited to announce the launch of ‘HSBC SVNS’ – the revamped World Rugby Sevens Series – kicking off in Dubai in December 2023. This sees our long term partnership from 2010 extend to 2027, underlining our commitment to UAE sport, and global rugby.
The continued commitment we are making to rugby here in Dubai is testament to the success of this partnership to date. We have worked closely with Emirates & World Rugby to make the Dubai tournament a success since 2010, as well as the UAE Rugby Federation, who just this year have introduced 96k Emirati students in 128 schools to the world of rugby through the Player Pathway programme. We look forward to helping the sport continue to reach even greater heights.”
The revamped World Rugby Sevens Series will feature eight tournaments in eight iconic global destinations:
• Emirates Dubai 7s – December 2nd & 3rd 2023
• Cape Town Sevens – December 9th & 10th 2023
• Perth Sevens – January 26th to 28th 2024
• Vancouver Sevens – 23rd to 25th February 2024
• Los Angeles Sevens – 2nd & 3rd March 2024
• Hong Kong Sevens – 5th to 7th April 2024
• Singapore Rugby Sevens – 3rd to 5th May 2024

With a bold ambition to supercharge rugby’s global reach and appeal by being more relevant and accessible to younger, leisure-hungry audiences, HSBC SVNS aims to deliver the ultimate in immersive experiences, a unique festival of sport, entertainment and culture set against stunning backdrops.
The top eight placed teams, based on cumulative series points, at the conclusion of Singapore Rugby SVNS will secure their opportunity to compete in the new ‘winner takes all’ Grand Final in Madrid, where the women’s and men’s SVNS champions will be crowned.
Madrid will also play host to the high stakes relegation play-off competition where teams ranked ninth to 12th will join the top four teams from the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series. The top four placed teams of this play-off will secure their place on next year’s SVNS.
The Emirates Dubai 7s gets underway on the 1st of December with the start of Gulf Rugby competitions including the finals of the 2023 Emirates Dubai 7s Youth Sports Festival.
