The UAE Under 18 Girls are busy getting ready for the Asia Rugby U18 rugby sevens tournament in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, later this month, the 28th and 29th of September.

Four Dubai Exiles have made the UAE extended training squad ahead of final selection for the trip to Malaysia. Chloe Corby, Lexie Nash, Isabel Sands, and Lara Shah.

In recent years the UAE has performed extremely well in Asia Rugby’s Under 18 competitions, in both girls and boys rugby. In last year’s tournament, held in the Taoyuan City Stadium, Chinese Taipei, both the UAE Under 18 Girls, and the U18 Boys took the titles.

After a tough opening round loss to India (5 – 10), followed by a 5 – 5 draw with Thailand, strong wins over Hong Kong China (17- 0) and Chinese Taipei (48 – 0) cemented the UAE U18 Girls‘ second spot in the round-robin competition and a final against India.

The concluding game with India was another tough encounter which saw the UAE revenge their opening round defeat by 10 points to 7 and take the title.
