From September 1st 2020 Rugby in the UAE will enter ‘Phase 2’ of the ‘Return to Rugby Covid-19‘ Guidelines.
This will allow for ‘Team Training‘ and groups of up to 50 players (and staff). Teams will be able to run plays, and also work on their skills and conditioning. However, it still remains ‘non-contact’. Elements of touch rugby (inclusive of Tag and Quick Rip) training can be used.
Screening, hygiene measures, physical distancing and appropriate care remain extremely important in keeping players and staff as safe as possible by minimising the risk of virus spread to club members and the wider community.
It is testament to the forward thinking actions of Dubai Health Authority, The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management and the UAERF (United Arab Emirates Rugby Federation) that we are already entering Phase 2, of the 4-Phase Return to Rugby Guidelines, in early September.
