There can be no doubt that 2024-25 is going to be a bumper season of rugby for the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Exiles RFC, and international rugby fans. September kicks things off with international tournaments in the Republic of Korea and Malaysia as well as the World Rugby WXV-3 women’s 15s international tournament taking place at The Sevens Stadium – the home of Dubai Exiles RFC.
September 7th & 8th
The Asia Rugby Sevens Series gets underway in Incheon, Republic of Korea, this weekend. The tournament features elite Sevens rugby teams from the region including Japan, Hong Kong China, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Korea (men) and Kazakhstan (women). 2023 Bronze medallists, the UAE, are drawn in Pool B alongside Hong Kong China, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore.
Dubai Exiles RFC‘s Tayne Stannard and Fourie Du Preez will be pulling on the national shirt of the UAE in the men’s competition. Robyn Etherington and Amanda Hameon in the women’s competition. Good luck everybody!
September 21st
The Exiles pre-season match with the current UAE Premiership Champions, the Dragons, signals the start of the 2024-25 West Asia and UAE Premiership rugby season.
The game is being played at The Sevens Stadium on the 21st September and kicks off at 7:00 pm.

September 27th & 28th
2024 is the second year that the WXV-3 women’s 15s international rugby tournament will be hosted at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai. Teams representing Fiji, Hong Kong China, Madagascar, Netherlands, Samoa, and Spain will be battling it out for the title. Dubai Exiles own Dr Vishnu Radhakrishnan will be on pitch providing medical support for the Hong Kong China team. ENTRY IS FREE.
September 28th & 29th
The first round of Asia Rugby Under 18 Sevens rugby will kick off in Johor Bahru, Malaysia at the end of the month.
The tournament is a crucial platform for young rugby talents to showcase their skills on an international stage and serve as a pathway for young players aspiring to represent their country at senior level.
