The Dubai Exiles U19 Girls side chalked up another trophy at the 50th Anniversary Emirates Dubai Sevens.
The final of the competition saw two of the best sides go head to head, Exiles v Knight’s-Eagles, in a match that would play out with drama and tension from beginning to end.
After double overtime, the Knights-Eagles defence, which had battled hard and remained organised all game eventually capitulated and the Exiles crossed for the Tournament winning try.
It was a fantastic effort over the 3 days by the whole squad – players, coaches, team managers and medical staff.
Well done – Carmen Smit, Charlotte McNaughton, Esmee Smit, Fatma Al Sawaidi, Femke Soens, Hannah Burton, Lara Botha, Mia Woodhouse, Nicole Brits, Olivia Pollard, Skye Beer and Megan Theocharis. You’ve made yourselves and the Club extremely proud.
Unfortunately, Megan missed the final day’s competition after sustaining a nasty collar bone break in an earlier match – Megan, we all wish you a speedy recovery!
