Dubai Exiles Premiership winning back row, current UAE International (15s and 7s) and DESC PE Teacher Matt Mills will be joining the under 9 coaching team for the 2020-21 season.
Matt is a hugely experienced player who has represented the Exiles for a number of years at the highest level in Gulf Rugby, with the Exiles he has won everything that there is to win in Gulf Rugby, the UAE Premiership, The West Asia Premiership and the Emirates Dubai Sevens.
Hailing from Northamptonshire, England, Matt recently helped to propel the UAE National Rugby side into to Asia Rugby Division 1 after beating Thailand 52 – 12 in their own back yard at the Chalerm Phrakiat Bang Bon Stadium in Bangkok.
Matt is a genuinely ‘good guy’, full of experience, knowledge, enthusiasm and especially keen to encourage and mould our Mini and Youth Rugby u9 players as they set out to learn the more technical aspects of this great game.
It has been a long standing policy of Dubai Exiles RFC for senior players to get involved with coaching the Mini and Youth Rugby age groups. This policy led to 2019-20 being the best season ever recorded for the Dubai Exiles, with many teams winning the Dubai Rugby A Leagues, and fantastic performances at the HSBC Mini & Youth Rugby festival as well as other rugby festivals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
