Dubai Exiles Under 19 Girls coach, Epeli Davetawalu, got involved with the UAE Under 19 Girls trials on Thursday evening at world-famous Dubai Sevens Stadium.
Epeli joined UAE National Head Coach, Apollo Perelini, on the green stuff with over 50 young ladies taking the opportunity to show their rugby skills and work ethic as they vie for a place on the plane to Uzbekistan this September.

Fijian powerhouse Epeli joined the Exiles at the end of the 2019-20 season, moving from Abu Dhabi Harlequins. He is a current Exiles‘ Premiership player, a UAE International, and Since his arrival at The Sevens‘ based Exiles he’s enthusiastically got involved with imparting his knowledge and experience to the Exiles‘ girls as well as the Under 5s and Under 6s of the club’s mini rugby on a Friday morning.
Epeli‘s on-field exploits in the Covid hit 2020-21 ten-man season has seen him thump in 3 tries in six matches for the Exiles. Epeli becomes the third Exiles‘ coach to gain international recognition. He joins Exiles’ Director of Rugby, Jacques Benade, who has been heavily involved with the UAE National Team alongside Apollo Perleini for a number of seasons.
