Cornelis Steyn playing for the UAE at the Phuket 7s in April 2022
Cornelis Steyn
Cornelis has joined the Dubai Exiles from the Dubai Hurricanes. Cornelis is an experienced Number 8 and a current UAE International. He recently played for his adopted home in the Phuket 7s tournament winning team that was captained by Exiles‘ Matt Mills in Thailand in April 2022. South African Cornelis played for the University of Free State as an outside centre. His work brought him to Dubai where he became immediately involved in playing rugby in the Emirates.
“Moving to Exiles has always been on my mind. I knew Jacques [Jacques Benade} after brief encounter on the Dubai College pitch at a training session when I was still searching for a club. Facing his team on the pitch has always been an eye opener. The standard of the game the Exiles play is high and I wanted to be a part of something great and in a good team environment, I made the call and the move. I’m looking forward to what is to come and how I develop as a player at the Dubai Exiles.Cornelis Steyn
